We are all unique and have our own personal needs and desires in regards to EMF mitigation.
I compiled some categories based on your level of need and ability to make changes.
Good
(for those that want to keep it simple and easy and mildly reduce some health risk)
Better
(for those that may have some mild symptoms or want to get more energy and vitality)
Become aware and reduce exposure to other “smart devices” such as your TV, any bluetooth devices (wireless headphones or speakers), gaming devices (playstation and Xbox), Alexa. Unplug or turn off when not in use. If you have a baby, make sure no wireless baby monitors! (They are as strong as a wi-fi router and right next to the developing baby)
Reduce or eliminate sources of blue light coming from LEDs. Also get rid of fluorescent lights. Replace with incandescent lights if possible. Also consider downloading IRIS for your computer to reduce blue light and/or get a screen for your computer or phone that blocks blue light.
Reduce use of screens after sunset (phone, TV, computer, and other LEDs).
Keep bedroom free of any wireless devices at night (cell phone, computer, other “smart devices). Turn off power to bedroom at the circuit breaker or at least unplug anything from walls in bedroom at night. If possible have your head at least 5 or 10 feet from the walls if you don’t turn off the power to the room.
Best
(for those really needing to turn around some moderate to severe symptoms and need more specific and intentional interventions. Also you have followed diet and exercise habits vigorously and still haven’t seen the change you need)
Phone is in airplane mode when not in use and using phone only when necessary. Bluetooth is turned off on phone. Also consider turning off location services unless you need navigation. Consider using Google voice on your computer for calls (of course computer should also not be using wi-fi but should be using ethernet connection for internet).
Again computer should be hard-wired for internet (ethernet connection) and wi-fi turned off at the router and on the computer).
While you are outside, most of the time have shoes off/walk barefoot, feet touching the earth (called earthing). Preferably do this near a tree/in woods and away from the house to stay away from unwanted ground voltage.
Become aware of all “smart devices” and greatly reduce (smart TV, thermostat, washer/dryer, etc) and any bluetooth devices (wireless headphones or speakers), gaming devices (playstation and Xbox), Alexa. Unplug or get rid of them.
Consider having an EMF specialist evaluate your home and create a sleep sanctuary with very little wireless frequency, electric fields, and magnetic fields present while sleeping. They can also assess for any dirty electricity in the home. If this is not possible, turn off power to your bedroom and adjoining rooms and rooms under the bedroom. Turn phone on airplane mode, turn off location services and bluetooth off while sleeping.
All in
(for total lifestyle change, complete energy and vitality supercharge, desire for deeper consciousness/connection, desire for great sex and more OR if you are on the brink of breaking and need to massively reverse your health). This may require significant lifestyle change and possible career and location changes.
Get a basic EMF meter and often measure to really understand your EMF exposure.
If possible (for most this is not possible and very expensive unless building your own house) have the wiring in your house shielded to greatly reduce the electric fields (this is a requirement for commercial buildings).
See the sunrise on as much as your body as possible, same for sunset if you can. Same for 30 mins or so midday (for vitamin D). Also be out for at least an hour during 8-11am time to be able to experience the change in light spectrum which is great for mitochondria.
Consider what career or job can allow for you to work and be outdoors for a considerable part of the day.
Make sure you are grounded/barefoot when you are outside.
Doing yoga or tai chi during some of these times when you are outside can be a great activity and help you further heal and become more connected with your body.
Consider living near lakes or rivers, or if possible the ocean as these allow for an extra level of grounding among many other benefits of being out in nature.
Consider the leptin prescription and epi-paleo diet from Dr. Jack Kruse. This entails not just the food you eat but the proper TIMING of the food you eat.
I have personally found adding Kombucha to my diet on a daily basis (at least one bottle a day, from sources that do not add any sugars) very helpful for my gut and digestion.
Eat outside, grounded, if possible in the woods or close to or under trees and away from manmade structures as these and other things create unwanted stray ground voltage.
Create a lifestyle where you can be barefoot in nature often.
Additional considerations and benefits at this level:
Due of the amount of time you will be spending in nature and out of stressful, indoor EMF sources, some possible benefits: you may be more reflective, conscious, feel more connected to things. You will spend more of your time in parasympathetic mode (rest and relax) which allows you to think deeper and more clearly and creatively instead of trying to just survive in fight or flight mode. You may gain more intuitive wisdom, you may be able to hear yourself and see others at a deeper level. You may literally be able to “trust your gut” more.
Your hormones should balance out more, your blood sugar should be much more stable along with your mood. You should have much more energy due to sleeping deeper. Aches and pains should reduce significantly. (Worth saying as long as you are also following a healthy/whole foods diet and do some exercise).
You may start to see that many of the things in life you really don’t need because nature provides such beauty and presence and peace. However, also good to be aware that this is counter-cultural and can create isolation and this can be harmful to your health. Make sure to have some kind of tribe you are doing this alongside. Sharing this journey with your partner can be a great start.
